Bella Vista

Welcome to Bella Vista, Arkansas! Initially established in 1917 as a resort destination, Bella Vista has changed and grown through it's first 100 years to be a unique community tucked away in far Northwest Arkansas. It is a full fledged city as of 2007, but still operates a city-wide property owners association that manages the private lakes, golf courses, nature and biking trails and recreation complexes located throughout the city. The POA also governs the covenants in which homeowners pay a monthly fee to. Up until the early 2000's, Bella Vista was known as a retirement community, but through the years (especially after incorporation), it has attracted younger residents who wish to enjoy the amenities. Most recently Bella Vista has attracted mountain bikers from around the country with it's initial development of 40 miles of mountain biking trails of all experience levels through it's hills and valleys called "The Back 40", and includes plans for up to 150 miles or more of trails when the full plan is completed. Bella Vista is also known for it's 7 manmade lakes, privately accessed only by POA members. Some of the most desirable real estate in Bella Vista are the homes surrounding the lakes, especially Loch Lomond, Bella Vista's biggest lake, popular for both fishing and watersports. Bella Vista is also home to the Mildred B. Cooper Chapel, which is quite a sight to see! This beautiful cathedral overlooks Lake Norwood can be booked for ceremonies, or you can visit for a tour of this architectural masterpiece.
